How to Install Prod Keys

This guide covers how to install prod keys for every major Nintendo Switch emulator. The process is essentially the same across all emulators: download the prod.keys file and place it in the correct directory.

Before You Begin

Download the latest prod.keys file from our download page
Make sure your emulator is installed and has been run at least once (this creates the necessary folders)
Close your emulator completely before installing keys

Install Prod Keys for Suyu

Place prod.keys in:

Windows: %APPDATA%/suyu/keys/
Linux: ~/.local/share/suyu/keys/
Android: Internal Storage/SuYu/keys/

Install Prod Keys for Ryujinx

Place prod.keys in:

Windows: %APPDATA%/Ryujinx/system/
macOS: ~/.config/Ryujinx/system/
Linux: ~/.config/Ryujinx/system/

Install Prod Keys for Yuzu

Place prod.keys in:

Windows: %APPDATA%/yuzu/keys/
Linux: ~/.local/share/yuzu/keys/

Place prod.keys in:

Windows: %APPDATA%/eden/keys/
Linux: ~/.config/eden/keys/
Android: Internal Storage/eden/keys/

After Installing Prod Keys

Launch your emulator
Check the emulator log or status bar for key detection confirmation
If using Ryujinx, go to Settings → System and verify keys are detected
If games still fail to boot, install the matching firmware — see our firmware guide

Troubleshooting

File must be named exactly prod.keys — no extra extensions like .txt
Check folder location — each emulator uses a different path
Update your keys — newer games require newer key versions
Restart the emulator — keys are loaded at startup, not hot-reloaded
